L’economia del continente è tuttavia esposta a molteplici fattori che potrebbero influenzarne negativamente l’andamento, quali le tensioni internazionali, le sempre più incalzanti conseguenze dei cambiamenti climatici e i conflitti interni. Il trend di lungo periodo appare ad ogni modo positivo.

La presenza italiana nell’Africa contemporanea, tra iniziative nazionali e opportunità europee

Il legame dell’Italia con la sponda sud del mediterraneo è sempre stata una priorità dell’azione dei governi di ogni colore politico, guidata da interessi strategici, necessità contingenti e opportunità di creazione di legami per le imprese italiane. Per la prima volta osserviamo un governo che ha posto l’accento fin da subito su un’iniziativa sistematica di ricostruzione e consolidamento dei rapporti con paesi della sponda sud – e di tutta l’Africa. L’attuazione di questo proposito con il piano Mattei è una grande opportunità per il consolidamento della Public Diplomacy italiana nella regione, ma dovrà essere messo alla prova di ambizioni che vanno oltre le “Africa policies” viste in passato.
